Imaging The Stones: John Van Hamersveld
John Van Hamersveld, Rock's Backpages, 11 August 2001
John Van Hamersveld was one of the key poster artists of the psychedelic rock era in Los Angeles. He was also the man to whom the Rolling Stones turned to help package 1972's mighty Exile On Main St. From the forthcoming Genesis Publications photo-book about Exile, this is Van Hamersveld's account of how the album's famous sleeve was conceived and realised.
