It Was Him: Shaggy

Ian Gittins, The Guardian, October 2002

THE WESTIN RIO MAR hotel in Puerto Rico is a textbook playground of the rich and famous. Way beyond merely luxurious, the baroque décor is jaw-droppingly ostentatious. The warm waters of the North Atlantic Ocean lap against the palm trees marking the borders of the hotel’s grounds, which house copious golf courses and tennis courts. A penthouse suite for the night will set you back the approximate market value of a small two-up, two-down anywhere in northern England. So it’s a tad surprising that in one of those penthouse suites, a reggae dancehall blues party appears to be in full swing.
