Jackie Lomax: Is This What You Want?
Terry Staunton, Record Collector, July 2004
LIVERPOOL singer-songwriter Lomax never enjoyed the widespread acclaim of his Apple contemporaries (Badfinger, Mary Hopkin, and, eventually, James Taylor), but the wealth of big names on his 1969 debut suggests that hopes were high. Producer George Harrison roped in McCartney and Starr, plus Eric Clapton, Klaus Voorman, Hal Blaine and Nicky Hopkins for a fairly pleasing blue-eyed soul set, which is probably more revered today than it was 35 years ago.
