Jeff Beck

Stuart Grundy, John Tobler, The Guitar Greats (BBC Books), 1983

AN AMERICAN JOURNALIST once described Jeff Beck as having an oversized heart and soul, which elevates him above most other guitarists and compared him in the practice of his art in the same league as Beethoven, Shakespeare, Da Vinci and Chaplin. While such comparisons may seem overblown, and certainly Jeff himself would probably feel that way, his guitar playing on an inspired day is superior to that of any of his peers in this book.
