Jeff Beck: Exclusive! Jeff Sez Nothin'!
Vivien Goldman, Sounds, 17 July 1976
Our story opens in the flashing chrome and glass edifice that constitutes Columbia Records in New York. Their International Department have invited Sounds to attend a weekend of Bill Graham's 'Day On The Green' fests at the Oakland Stadium. Columbia and Epic Records are handsomely represented there via Santana, Jeff Beck, Journey the Blue Oyster Cult, Boz Scaggs and new heavy metal band Mahogany Rush.
The mission: to attend and report on the weekend, and to interview as many as possible of these artists, Mr. Beck in particular.
