Jellybean Benitez: 'Bean Meanz Bizness

IF YOU were of the opinion that Jellybean Benitez, one of the mainstays of the East Coast club scene for the last decade, lives and dies for dance music then you'd better think again. Although, Bean first emerged on the scene in the early '80's as a DJ/remixer, going on to produce the likes of 'Holiday' for Madonna whilst releasing his own highly favoured Wotupski album around the same time, his interest in dance music — the broad spectrum of dance music — has always served as a means to an end. Even his last album, Just Visiting This Planet which contained the awesome, 'The Real Thing' with Steven Dante, facilitated the Jellybean dollar making empire.
