John Cale: Half Past California

Martin Hayman, Sounds, 2 June 1973

JOHN CALE is not the easiest of men to talk to. Not that he is obstreperous, bored or plain dumb. Quite the reverse. Ask him a question and he thinks about it and then, to the best of his ability, answers it. Only trouble is that, like those personality tests, his answers fall between the yes and the no.
