John Lennon: Rock 'N' Roll (Apple)
Greg Shaw, Phonograph Record, March 1975
IN OCTOBER 1973 John Lennon was reported cutting an album of oldies with Phil Spector. After only four sides had been cut, Spector was seriously injured in an automobile crash, and the album was shelved for a year before Lennon got around to cutting the remaining eleven tracks. Now it's out, and a lot of people are calling it Lennon's most exciting release in a long time.
