John Rotten Lydon in a Few Words
Glenn O'Brien, V-Man, Spring 2005
OKAY, JUST THINKING about him, I got a powerful yen to listen to John Lydon's music and as the vinyl's all out at the country house where it often covers up the vocals of misfiring roosters, I walked over to the immense Tower Records, where they have big stacks of the new William Shatner album (produced by Ben Folds and featuring Joe Jackson!, Adrian Belew!! and Henry Rollins!!!) and I started thinking that irony has reached some horrible critical mass, a black hole state where everything is sucked in and nothing escapes, and somehow I managed to reach the P area of the pop section in the back of the store where I was amazed to discover not one Public Image Ltd. recording. Not one! No John Lydon!
