ANYONE ABSORBING the Australian airwaves back in 1981 will have encountered any number of strange and wonderful things. Few, however, have stood the test of time – and remained both supremely strange and utterly wonderful as 'Screaming Jets', a compulsive and, if sound effects be our guide, superbly titled glimpse into a post-apocalyptic future that, with sales in excess of 75,000 copies, looked set to transform its English born performer into one of the biggest stars of the age.
