Joni Mitchell: For The Roses
Michael Gray, Let It Rock, March 1973
THIS IS ONE of those albums which makes me feel I should apologise to the artist concerned for previously undervaluing her work. Even as late as Blue I liked more than respected the songs and the sound. The only track I really took heed of was 'The Last Time I Saw Richard', which was complex, articulate and well-integrated: an intelligent theme felicitously handled.
