Junie Morrison: The Junie Vibe

Andy Schwartz, New York Rocker, July 1981

WALTER "JUNIE" Morrison sinks wearily into an armchair in his hotel suite. Not until 3 o'clock this morning did he leave the stage of the Ritz, where he had joined Parliament/Funkadelic live on keyboards for the first time in over a year. A thousand miles from home and family in Dayton, Ohio, he is tired, unshaven and wary of turning into "a funk bum." But of course he will take care of all business, private and public, with his usual gentle courtesy and good cheer.
