Koko Taylor: I Got What It Takes
Greg Shaw, Phonograph Record, June 1975
ANYONE WHO maintains that blues is a dead or dying form must not be aware of Alligator Records. This tiny, dedicated company has been operating on a shoesting for several years, gradually building up the most impressive catalog of living blues extant today. Based in Chicago, still the world's most active blues scene, they have recorded such legendary blues masters as Hound Dog Taylor, Big Walter Horton, Son Seals, Fenton Robinson, and now Koko Taylor.
