Lip-Smacking LA: Delicious Vinyl
Simon Witter, NME, 11 February 1989
New Yorkers, the creators of hip hop, have never been receptive to outside beats, and in the past only the Philly scene has given them cause for concern. But now the food metaphors are flying as LAs Delicious Vinyl record company forces the Big Apple to say Aaaah!, and slides an angelic tongue down its throat. And with Tone Locs Wild Thing 12" approaching the two million sales mark, and five double albums due out on Delicious by Easter, this is just the hors doeuvres. Simon Witter samples the feast.
