Little Feat: As Time Goes By — The Best Of Little Feat; Ry Cooder: Why Don't You Try Me Tonight? — The Best Of...
Andy Gill, New Musical Express, 6 September 1986
DURING THE early/mid-'70s, Warner Brothers were the envy of their major corporate rivals for their unparalleled hip-act market-share. Partly, one suspects, for the way their reputation allowed them to foist substandard product on an unsuspecting world (whither, for instance, Bonnaroo?). Warners, in the public ear, equalled West Coast discernment, and two of the main reasons for this reputation were critics' darlings Little Feat and Ry Cooder, here honoured with somewhat tardy 'Best Of' compilations.
