WHOEVER started the vogue for double live albums (the Band?) has a lot to answer for. Whether pretty good (Bob Seger, J. Geils) or embarrassingly bad (Nils Lofgren), they all seem an excuse, a holding action or a sharpish business move disguising a greatest hits cash-in as giving the fans what they want.
