Love Gun: Kiss, Love it or Leave it!
Metal Mike Saunders, Creem, Fall 1977
REMEMBER THE old 'Grand Funk Understand' riff? Well, maybe so, and maybe not — it was a long time ago back in the year of our Lord 1971. What it amounted to was Dave Marsh (the-Creem editor, now Rolling Stone review editor) slagging Grand Funks Live Album as the culmination of everything rancid in rock since 1967 (guitar solos, jamming, Cream, hippies, the Grateful Dead, bad music). His message was very simple: if you like this youre a MORON.
