Marillion: An Interview With Pete Trewavas
Steven Ward, PopMatters, 10 June 2003
MARILLION MAY BE the best-kept secret in rock. Formed in London in 1981, Marillion started out like any other young band. The band members, including vocalist Fish, drummer Mick Pointer, keyboardist Mark Kelly, bassist Pete Trewavas and guitarist Steve Rothery, desperately wanted to strike out on their own with an individual sound and a strong musical purpose. Instead, the young band wore their musical influences -- the progressive rock of Genesis and Yes -- on their collective musical sleeves.
