TOMORROW, MCCABE'S guitar shop in Santa Monica is marking its 13th anniversary, even though its actual opening took place in October, 1969 (which means, if you figure it out, 12 years and three months ago). The relaxed attitude toward historical accuracy can be forgiven since, in truth, McCabe's has been in business in various locations for 22 years, and even when its 10th anniversary in the concert-hall business passed, no celebration was held.
