THE MONTEREY International Pop Festival was a fantastic success by all accounts. It was a real victory for the art of pop music over commerical exploitation. Artists like the Mamas and Papas, the Byrds, Hugh Masekela, the Association and Simon and Garfunkel came to exchange ideas in almost continuous concerts.
