Motorhead: Another Perfect Day (Bronze)

THE SPIRIT of this group was probably born in a flop single made Screaming Lord Sutch in 1964. It was called ‘Jack The Ripper’, and it was about the celebrated maniac as played by Sutch, creeping after young girls with something unpleasant on his mind. Joe Meek, the warped genius of ‘60s production, recorded it with every ounce of tasteless kitsch he could muster (it begins with footsteps in the fog and bobs merrily along with a girl chorus chanting "Jack The Ripper, Jack The Ripper" on cue). Only Motorhead would try and make a record like that today.
