Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee Lets It All Hang Out
Roy Trakin, Grammy Magazine, April 2005
EVEN BEFORE HE agreed to join bandmates Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Mick Mars in this year's surprisingly successful Mötley Crüe reunion tour the original line-up's first since 1999 42-year-old Tommy Lee has been one busy guy. His autobiography, Tommyland, was a N.Y. Times best-seller, he recorded a solo album slated for release on his own label this summer and recently enrolled at the University of Nebraska for Tommy Lee Goes to College, a reality series which airs on NBC in June. Notorious for his stormy marriage to Pam Anderson and their Internet-fueled sex-ploits, Tommy is still like a hyperactive teenager even though he's now the father of two boys himself. Taking a moment from flying high above stadium crowds with his patented airborne drum solo, Lee exposes himself to GRAMMY readers.
