LOOK AT WHAT 10 years can do to jazz mavericks. A decade ago, George Duke, James Mtume, Reggie Lucas, Ndugu Chancler and Stanley Clarke were working on the cutting edge of jazz. They were playing alongside the likes of Miles Davis, Alice Coltrane and Frank Zappa (in one of his jazz-fusion periods).
