New-Old Grande Something to See

Mike Gormley, Detroit Free Press, 26 December 1969

THE LATEST word, in the merry-go-round that ballroom promoters have been sending Detroit people on, is good, but still a little confusing. It's confusing In the sense that we've heard of the old Grande closing, maybe; old Grande closing, definitely; new Grande opening; Eastown and Grande trading weeks back and forth for presentation of acts; new Grande closing, completely; Eastown taking over complete bookings. The latest word, and it's definite, is the old Grande is re-opening. It will, in fact, open New Year's Eve.
