Ozzy Osbourne: His Satanic Majesty Repents
David Stubbs, Uncut, December 1997
JOHN "OZZY" OSBOURNE, FORMER HELL raiser, outrageous roister-doister, Dark Lord of Metal and rough diamond geezer extraordinaire has sung much about death, visited it summarily among a variety of small winged creatures, and recreated some of its grisliest manifestations onstage in the form of the hanging of dwarves. But as I meet him in the large living-room of his stately pile in Buckinghamshire, it's not so long since the death of Diana and he's in subdued and pensive mode, still in a "state of shock" at the tragedy, haunted by thoughts of mortality and the scything randomness of the Grim Reaper.
