I'M LAUGHING, BUT Pete Townshend is frightening me. "Yes!!!!!" he shouts, and bangs hard on the table in his Richmond studio, for the second time in half an hour. "Yessss!!!!! It's my duty, isn't it ?" Does he want me to answer him, or is the question hypothetical? I can't tell, but I decide to hold my response, since the table is still juddering.
