IN '82 WE WERE all listening to the dBs' second album, Repercussion. The Barracudas, having been shown the ejection seat by EMI, were in a lull; I had time on my hands, got the album to review for Sounds and fell in love: "Effective, unaffected, mischievous, voluptuous, manic, incisive, insistent, inventive, bubblegum that'll uncap your teeth and unglue your biases, one of the last great rock 'n' roll groups." (And that was the understated passage.)
