Harvey Kubernik, Goldmine, 17 June 1988
NOW IN HIS 30th year in the music industry, Jack Nitzsche is one of the great composers and arrangers of our time. In this decade alone, Nitzsche had scored such hit films as Jewel Of The Nile, Stand By Me, Streets Of Gold, Starman, 9½ Weeks, Without A Trace, Breathless and The Razor's Edge. He received an Academy Award nomination for his work on An Officer And A Gentleman. Before that, in the '70s, Nitzsche worked on such legendary films as The Exorcist and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and provided the audio environment for the Mick Jagger vehicle Performance in 1970.
