LOOKING rather like a refugee from a Biblical nightmare, P.J. Proby – with beard and shoulder-length hair – loped down the corridor from Top Of The Pops studio in a blue shirt, green corduroys, black buckle shoes and whirling something which looked suspiciously like a skipping rope.
