His Graffiti Bridge movie, due out last autumn, has never been publicly shown, and the accompanying double album, which did appear last summer, was his smallest seller for years. Though he remains a red hot ticket in Europe, in the States, where hits have become scarce since Batman over two years ago, Prince's superstar status is currently under review.
