WHEN POET JOHN SINCLAIR was released from the Detroit House of Correction in August 1966, after serving his time on a marijuana bust, he was greeted by a world that had changed drastically in the five months hed been away. Although hed read in Life magazine about hippies and LSD, nothing prepared him for what he encountered back on the outside.
