Rammstein: Brixton Academy
Stephen Dalton, Times, The, February 2005
A GRAND theatrical spectacle to rival any West End show, the industrial rock carnival that is Rammstein thundered into Brixton on Thursday to kick off their UK tour. Formed in East Germany a decade ago, these modern-day gladiators of Wagnerian heavy metal have spent years battling media allegations of flirting with fascism, a lazy and apparently baseless slur that has led to radio bans and cancelled concerts in the past. But their surprisingly witty, artful music has also been adapted into orchestral suites and featured in films by David Lynch and Lukas Moodysson.
