NIK VENET, an East Coast friend and mid-Fifties music scene contemporary of Bobby Darin who came to Los Angeles to become one of the key figures in West Coast pop music of the 1960s, died January 2 at County-USC Medical Center in L.A. Venet, who was 61, had suffered from a rare form of lymphoma named Burkitt's, and had been hospitalized since September.
