Richard Hell
Cynthia Rose, City Limits, 1 April 1983
This week sees the opening of Smithereens, a low-budget feature film by Manhattan film school grad Susan Seidelman. Initially an experiment shot in 1980, it has achieved unexpected mainstream success in America and abroad. But this slight film is almost stolen from its star, Susan Herman, by one Richard Meyers cast in the cameo role of a self-interested punk has-been.
