Rick Wakeman: Rhapsodies (A&M)***½
Phil Sutcliffe, Sounds, 2 June 1979
A MAN of honour is old Rick. Some three years ago when he was preparing No Earthly Connection he said he would like to do it as a 'two-albums-for-the-price-of-one' package to repay fans' loyalty and thrust a vertical finger up the tyranny of inflation. He failed to deliver then (perhaps mercifully on mature reflection) but obviously never set his ambition aside. Rhapsodies is its fulfilment. Don't pay any more than £4.99 or you're being rooked.
