Robin Trower: Long Misty Days (Chrysalis)****
Phil Sutcliffe, Sounds, 9 October 1976
THERE'S AN Edgar Allen Poe story in which a small boat is caught up in a maelstrom, a King Kong among whirlpools, spins around its heaving entrails for some days and, as I recall, survives. For me that's something like the experience of getting used to a Robin Trower album. All five have been elementally powerful, supernaturally strange and profoundly emotional.
