Roger McGuinn: Cardiff Rose, Chris Hillman: Slippin' Away, Firefall: Firefall
Barbara Charone, Sounds, 12 June 1976
WHAT THESE three soft rock American releases have in common is the Byrds. That's the connection plain and simple. Staunch Byrd-man Roger McGuinn returns from Rolling Thunder excursions with Dylan with his strongest vinyl effort in years. Once McGuinn's partner in crime, Chris Hillman now picks up the pieces from the erratic Souther, Hillman, Furay with his debut solo album. And (wait for it c&w rockers) original Byrds drummer Michael Clarke is part of the low profile supergroup Firefall. Got that?
