Ron Geesin, Hamilton Yarns: Friends Meeting House, Brighton

Mike Barnes, The Wire, February 2005

THIS RARE live appearance by multi-instrumentalist, composer and poet Ron Geesin — only his second in seven years or so — took place in the galleried setting of the town's old Quakers' hall. Since the '60s Geesin has been famed for his far-reaching solo recordings and unpredictable improvised live performances. His reputation only added to tonight's feeling of anticipation.
