Roy Rogers: King of the Console (Production, That Is)
Bill Wasserzieher, Blues Revue, March 1999
IT'S NIGHT TIME and a yellow moon is up over nearby Mexico. There are perhaps 20,000 people jammed into a cordoned off section of San Diego's old Gaslamp District and a big-amped cacophony of music is blaring from multiple directions. The annual food-and-music binge, Street Scene, is under way, and a dozen of the 125 bands on the three-night schedule are going at it simultaneously from a battery of outdoor stages.
