Royal Trux: Veterans of Disorder
Andria Lisle, Raygun, October 1999
Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema, the "Glimmer Twins" of Royal Trux, have packed a lot of living into the past decade – including heroin abuse and a $1.5 million deal with Virgin Records which unraveled after two releases. After walking away with enough cash to buy a ranch in the Virginia countryside, the pair built a home recording studio and returned to independent label Drag City. Royal Trux' first post-Virgin album, Accelerator, received more critical acclaim than either major label release. The title of their follow-up says it all – Veterans of Disorder.
