In the wake of the first and last Sisters Of Mercy album, 1985's First And Last And Always, the evil empires of Goth and Grebo have risen, and a new underworld fiefdom of boozed up, acid-spiked anti-heroes has emerged: Missions, Cults, Mindwarped Doctors and Gaye Bykers all hell-bent on reviving an old-fashioned sense of irresponsible rockist hedonism.
