Solomon Burke: The Marquee, London, 18th July 1966

JUST OVER a year ago, Solomon Burke made his first appearance at the Marquee and was greeted with incredible scenes of enthusiasm. Before he had sung a note, those seated stood up in awe at the sight of this huge thirty-one year-old Philadelphian in his flowing red, white and gold robes and equally stunning crown.
