Sonic Youth: Dirt Tracks

JUMPING ON their own bandwagon, Sonic Youth are the old Nirvana, baton carriers of the underground spirit through the late '80s and early '90s, paving the way for bands like Nirvana and their ilk. At their best they are rock's avante garde consciousness, stalking on the periphery of the whole damned mad circus, sifting through trash culture and burning out some serious skewbald guitar madness that sounds like no-one else on the planet.
