THE TERM "folk-rock" appears to have different meanings in the UK and the US – American folk/rock means The Byrds, The Lovin' Spoonful and The Mamas & Papas, but British folk/rock has been dominated since its late '60s inception by two bands, Fairport Convention and STEELEYE SPAN.
