Steeleye Span: Parcel of Rogues (Chrysalis)
Charles Shaar Murray, NME, 14 April 1973
IT WOULD be considerably more than a pity if Steeleye Span, that most English of bands, have to become superstars in the States before really hitting their stride back home. Hopefully, though, Parcel Of Rogues will open a few thousand more ears to what Maddy Prior, Peter Knight, Bob Johnson, Rick Kemp and Tim Hart do for a living. It's easily the best Steeleye Span album yet, and that is no idle praise.
