BY THE time of his 1976 UK chart breakthrough, Fly like An Eagle, Steve Miller's many attributes had been established on the impressive series of albums he'd recorded since 1968. Graduating from the Texas blues scene, Miller steered a steady course through San Francisco psychedelia, matching conceptual FX-laden explorations to a bucolic, unashamedly hippyesque worldview, his honeysweet vocals aiding an unerringly commercial songwriting instinct.
