Suicide: Martin Rev interviewed
Blake Gumprecht, Alternative America, Winter 1983
ALAN VEGA (vocals) and Martin Rev (instrument) formed Suicide in 1972 in New York City. After years of gaining infamy while gigging the Max's Kansas City-Mercer Arts Center scene, Suicide released a few singles and two albums in the late 1970s, plus a ROIR cassette of studio outtakes and live performances. In addition, Vega has recorded two albums of a sort of quaalude rockabilly, and in 1980 Rev released an LP of evocative electronic istrumentals. Blake Gumprecht and Steve Greenwood talk with Rev and consider Suicide.
