A STANDARD semi-detached on Oxford's fashionably downbeat Cowley Road appears an unlikely HQ for the UK's "hottest new band" (copyright the typically finger-not-on-the-pulse Today newspaper) but in fact it's a fitting one for the new kids on the block of rogueish, up-for-it talent we have come to know and love as Britpop.
