T-Rex: Tanx
Wayne Robins, Creem, July 1973
SONG FOR SONG, this might be Marc Bolan's strongest album. Certainly, it's the most varied, and the most musical. One instinctively look for the lyric sheet one expects to find with any Bolan record, since as a writer Bolan's lyrics have always been as important as, if not dominant to, the music. But there ain't no lyric sheet and that, I think, is the point of Tanx. It's the real T-Rex non-verbal boogie album.
