Terry Melcher: Terry Melcher

Gene Sculatti, Phonograph Record, April 1974

I SUPPOSE YOU could call Terry Melcher's long awaited solo debut an extension of California rock and the "West Coast Sound." After all, he was half of Bruce & Terry, he did produce more hits for the Byrds (‘Mr. Tambourine Man’, ‘Turn Turn Turn’, plus Untitled, Easy Rider, etc.) and the Raiders (‘Just Like Me’, ‘Kicks’, ‘Hungry’, ‘Good Thing’, et. al.) than anyone else, and he participated in all kinds of peripheral Coast mini-movements.
